Many web sites are facing a new and daunting challenge: how to manage an overwhelming and constant supply of new content, with limited resources.

Methods of self-organization exist to ensure order amidst the chaos, but such systems require moving away from explicit information architectures and toward creating rich environments that are conducive to the emergence of self-organized information architectures that meet the needs of diverse audiences.
